Fine Sundang / Moro Kris Sword

Sundang swords, sometimes referred to as Kalis, or Moro sword are most commonly found in Mindanao, Philippines but are also spread around from Malaya in the west to Moro Land in the east. All with small variations that make exact identification not easy. The Moro Sundang swords are usually larger and heavier than their Malay.
The mid 19C. Sundang sword offered here has a wavy 9 luk blade. Well forged blade with Double fullered on its entire length. Two silver clamp hold the blade in position. Wood handle bound with engraved and chiseled silver bands. Chiseled and engraved Cockatoo style silver pommel. Original wood scabbard with horn tip bound with silver bands
Blade 21 inches. Total length 27 inches. Very Good condition. Small repairs on the pommel tip. Several silver bands on the scabbard missing. An authentic and impressive sword.
