This Qama sword is Persian, mid 19C. The scabbard however is later, early 20C. Syrian origin. Finely forged heavy blade 20 inches long. with off centered fullers, deeply signed with a maker mark and decorated with gold inlay koftgari work. Front side grip is walrus, dyed green and decorated with a mosaic strip of bone and horn. The back side grip is black horn. Later made scabbard with steel mounts and classical Syrian silver koftgari work. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition.
