Very Good Early Georgian Qama

A very good Qama dagger, Georgia, late 9 C. Well made wide blade with two fullers and maker mark. The grips are made of horn with nielloed silver mounts. Wood scabbard with large silver locket and chape, also decorated with niello decoration. The back of the scabbard is marked with Georgian inscription.
Blade length 14 1/2 inches (37 cm). Total length in scabbard 21 1/2 inches (55 cm). Very good condition. Blade with minor blackened spots. Early exemplar, probably late 19 C.
