Very Good Bugis Keris with Silver Scabbard

Bugis (Buginese) people are the biggest ethnic group from Sulawesi (Celebes) Island. They carry a very typical Keris dagger: Rather short with massive blade, scabbard with somewhat square lines and a pistol grip handle. Sometimes the handle is of Sumatra style like the case here.

This Bugis Keris Dagger is late 19 – early 20C.It has a slightly curved  blade of flat hexagonal  cross section and with a good pamor structure. Very finely carved wood  grip with brass mendak. Wood scabbard with finely chased silver pendok.

blade 13 inches long, Total Length 18 inches. Very good condition.
