Very Fine Small Bugis Keris

Bugis (Buginese) people are the biggest ethnic group from Sulawesi (Celebes) Island. They carry a very typical Keris dagger: Rather short with massive blade, scabbard with somewhat square lines and a pistol grip handle. Sometimes the handle is of Sumatra style like the case here.
This Bugis Keris Dagger is late 19 – early 20C. It is a very small variant, almost a miniature. Although not a real weapon it is constructed with the same materials and technique of a larger weapon. Good pamor blade. Ivory grip with a parrot like pommel. Wood scabbard with finely carved and pierced ivory  warangka and ivory scabbard tip.
blade 9 inches long, Total Length 12 inches. Very good plus condition.
