Very Fine Silver Mounted Knife from Tibet

A typical heavy knife from Tibet. late 19 – Early 20 C. Short heavy single edged blade. Grip bound with twisted silver wire. Chased silver pommel set with large coral stones on both side and chase silver cross guard.  The scabbard is U shaped steel frame with wood liners covered with heavy chased silver panels on both faces, highly and densely chased with flowers and animals and set with big turquoise and coral stones. The silver chasing and chiseling is exquisite.

Blade 11 inches (28 cm) long. Total length17 inches (43 cm). Weight 525 Grams. Very good condition.
