Oman is well known for its fine silver works : Belts, bracelets, other jewelry as well as silver decorations of the legendry Omani khanjars. All of high level chasing filigree and other decoration techniques. Silver powder flasks, also known as “Talahiq” also enjoy the high level workmanship of Omani silversmiths.

The powder flask offered here is made entirely of chasing and silver filigree work in classical Omani style. Horn shaped with hinged top cover and spring loaded mechanism the opens the flask mouth. Oman  National Emblem,  consists of a sheathed khanjar and belt, superimposed on two crossed swords is chased on the center of the front face. The flask comes with a short hanging silver chain.

Length 6 unches (15 cm). Very good plus condition. Original and authentic Omani fine piece of work. First half of the 20C.
