Rare Rentong Knife with Enameled Gold Collar

A very fine RENTONG knife / dagger from the Malay Archipelago. The version offered here is mostly used by the Acehnese people from North West Sumatra. The blade is down curving and single edged, most probably forged from laminated steel. Octagonal steel bolster. The hilt is horn with sharply up-curving pommel and with classical gold collar deeply engraved and enameled with green and blue colors. The scabbard is finely engraved wood.
