Very big Qama swords are found in the Persian arsenal. In some reference book it is named Quadara. The functionality of these gigantic swords  is in question but as ceremonial swords they are indeed very impressive .

As big as it can get. This monstrous Qama sword can be justfully named  “Mother of all Qamas”  Massive and long blade,  well made with off centered fullers. Gold koftgari decorated  front  face with two images of the Persian lions. Horn grips made from two sectors with steel rivets and rosettes also decorated with gold koftgari  work. Original leather covered scabbard with a later steel tip. To demonstrate its dimensions it is shown below next to a more common Qama.

Blade 27 inches long 2 1/2 inches wide. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition. Losses to the gold Koftgari work on the grips rosettes. Authentic and impressive 19C. Qajar Period Sword.
