The origin of this type of knife was a matter of numerous discussion on the network. It was attributed to India, Afghanistan, Central Asia, North Africa and even Scandinavia and Inuit. But it is YAO, East Africa. The attribution to East Africa, probably Malawi Mozambique and Tanzania is confirmed from several similar knives in the British Museum. See below.

Classical shape, well made fullered blade, steel bolsters, cylindrical ivory grip and hide scabbard.

Blade 6 inches, total 12 1/2. Very good condition
