A rare version of the Kampilan sword from the Philippines. This version of sword is common to the T’boli group, an old indigenous people living in Cotabato area, south west of Mindanao island. The blade is straight, very finely laminated, 19 inches long widening toward the tip with down curving pierced and filed spine . The handle is cast brass decorated with many small brass bells. Wood scabbard covered with rattan strips, ending with brass tubes. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition.
