Indian Wootz Shamshir Sword with Lion Head Pommel

Lion and Tiger heads are commonly used to style the pommel of Indian swords. Specifically in the 19 C.
The Shamshir sword offered here is made in this style. This fine shamshir is second half of the 19 C., coming from central or south India. Very good watered (Wootz, crystalline) steel blade of rather low contrast. Gilded copper handle with a styled lion (Or Tiger) head pommel.
le 30 inches long. No scabbard. Very good condition. Some losses to the gilding.
