This fine and large “PIHA KAHETTA” knife is the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). An old classical examples with a single edged heavy down curving fullered blade, 10 1/2 inches long, with engraved brass inlay and heavy brass bolsters. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with good age patina, set with chiseled and chased silver pommel cover. Original carved wood scabbard with copper / silver locket. Total length is 16 1/2 inches. Very good condition. A fine piece in very good condition.
