A fine Hejaz Jambiya dagger from South Yemen. Characterized by the handle with a small pommel and short silver scabbard usually decorated by fine piercing with a shining red foil below the surface.  Horn handle of good age and dark age patina with silver mounts. Finely forged Blade with pronounced central rib 8 1/2 inches long. Finely chased and pierced silver scabbard with shining red foil underneath. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Fine and impressive dagger. Late 19C.
