The Pedang Lurus (Straight Sword in local languages) is originated in Java, Indonesia. It is a fascinating mix of a European hunting sword and Indonesian sword making techniques and decoration. Straight blade very slightly down curving and in most cases the lower half of the blade is double edged. Good pamor structure. Straight or slightly inclined handle with short cross guard. varying materials: mostly silver but sometimes other available materials.
The Pedang Lurus offered here is of very fine quality. Blade forged from very good pamor steel. Chased silver handle with animal head pommel. Wood scabbard covered with silver, chased in a classical Javanese style.
Blade 18 1/2 inches. Total length 26 inches. Very good plus condition. First half of the 20C. Impressive authentic sword.
