Fine Moroccan Koumaya Dagger Hanzer Style

This fine Koumaya Dagger is most probably coming from Marrakech, Morocco. The style is known as “Hanzer” with the scabbard and pommel silver are of straight lines. This style was very popular in Marrakech, hence the attribution.
Classical blade, double edged at its lower half and single edged at the top. The handle is carved from a massive piece of R horn. The pommel head and the scabbard are made of heavy silver, engraved and chased in a classical Moroccan design. Both the pommel and the scabbard locket are stamped with a silver proof mark. This Koumaya comes with very fine baldric made of silk threads bound together with golden thread bands.
Blade 9 1/2 inches long, total length 16 inches. Very good condition. The pommel proof mark is worn. Few silk threads in the baldric are torn. Fine authentic and rare koumay. First quarter of the 20th C.
