Indian and Persian arm guards, also known as Bazu Band were worn on the exposed side of the arm and intended to protect the arm from sword hit of the opponent. HenceĀ a good hard steel was preferred as their material.
The Arms Guard offered here is Indian and it is entirely forged from high quality high density pattern welded steel. The edges of the gusrd are richly decorated with gold koftgari work and the inner side is painted gold as well.
14 inches long. Good condition. The locks and buckles are missing. Good authentic early 19 C. Arm Guard
