The Mangbetu people from D.R.C (Democratic Republic of Congo) are renowned for their artistic skills in wood carving iron crafts and other s. These skills are highly reflected in their “Emambele”, a well forged and elegantly shaped prestige knife / axe. Sickle shaped with sharp curvature blade and two (or Three) holes and several protrusions from the base of the blade.
The exemplar presented here has a 10 inches blade and ivory handle. Total length 15 inches. Very good condition.
