Fine Early Georgian Kindjal

Date: Second half of the 19 C.











A very fine Kindjal (Qama) dagger. Well made narrow blade with two fullers. The grip and the scabbard are whole silver (marked with silver proof mark), very finely deeply chieseled and nielloed in the best decoration styles of Georgian kindjals. The back of the scabbard is marked with three letters. The scabbard comes with its original leather look for belt hanging.
Blade length 12 1/2 inches (32 cm). Total length in scabbard 19 1/2 inches (48 cm). Very good condition. Blade with nice dark patina , but no pitting or corrosion. Early exemplar, probably second half of the 19 C.
