Fine Burmese Two Handed Dah Sword
Burmese Dah Sword
Origin: Burma (Mianmar)
Date: Early 20 C.

Classical Burmese Dah Sword, with a slightly up-curving heavy blade. The blade is entirely inlaid with silver describing human figures on floral blackened background, and many Burmese inscriptions on both faces of the blade and on the spine as well. The long silver handle is decorated en-suite, dancing human figures in silver on blackened background. This sword comes with a later made wood scabbard bound with bands of white metal separated by bands of wavy brass wires. Fine sword of quality.
Blade 24 1/2 inches. Total length 34 inches. Handle 8 1/2 inches. This length of the handle allows a firm two handed grip. Very good condition. Minor dents on the scabbard bands
