Very rare Vietnamese saber also known as Guom. The single edged fullered blade is slightly curved 28 inches long . The hilt is composed of horn grip with lion head pommel and collar of blackened silver (or blackened copper) both inlaid with fine gold decoration. The pommel tip is set with a clear stone. The scabbard is dark wood with fine chased silver fittings and inlaid in an intricate pattern of Mother of Pearl beautiful decoration. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition.
Minor blackened spots on the blade and minor repaired cracks and very minor replaced MOP inlay. An exceptional saber with a rare gold work on the handle. This sword must have been belonged to a high rank person.
