Early Fijian Sali War Club

The Sali is a long and heavy war club from the Fiji Islands. The Sali is carved from the stem of a local extremely hard tree with a short side branch that makes the fork like head of the club.
The Sali club offered here is an early exemplar. The wide side of the head is carved in a checkered pattern.
The wide side of the head is 13 inches long, inches wide. The side branch is 4 inches long. Total length 39 inches. Weight 1.5 Kg. Very good condition. Good dark shining age patina. Vewry minor hardly noticed wood chips.
