Very Fine Elephant Goad from India

This is an Indian ANKUS, (Elephant Goad), used by the Indian to guide their elephants.
Although it is not a pure weapon, it is always shown in Museum and private collection in connection to Indian arms and armor. It also finds extended use as a ceremonial item displayed in parades and other important events.
This is a fine exemplar, late 18 C, small size but of a fine quality. The 3 inches top steel blade and 4 inches hook shaped blade are solid silver (Low silver).
The handle is solid ivory. Total length 13 inches.
Very good plus condition. Very good age patina on theĀ ivory.
A fine piece.
