A Rare and Fine Caucasian Powder Flask

Powder flasks were always important part in the accessories set of firearms. When it comes to fine sets, the flasks were decorated en-suite with the gun, and carried together.
The flask shown here is Caucasian in origin most probably Georgian, in the shape of Persian flasks which were very popular in all the middle east and around. Silver with fine and delicate niello decoration and a long Georgian inscription. The operating lever is brass inlaid with silver, in full working condition.
Length 7 inches. Very fine exemplar of powder flasks. mid 19 C.
