The Parang Ginah is a rare sword from Northern Malaya. A rare form of sickle shaped heavy blade forged from good laminated steel with the edge on the concave side and engraved spine with several teeth like extensions. The hilt is turned wood.
Either it is a weapon or an agricultural implement is not really clear, but it certainly can be used in combat as a rather formidable weapon.
Blade length 15 inches (38 cm). Total length 23 1/2 inches (60 cm). Good authentic 19 c. weapon much sought after by collectors.
