Fine large Ottoman Kurdish Jambiya dagger - 14422
A dagger of very good quality and decoration, of Turkish origin, most probably from East Turkey, with strong Kurdish / Iraqi influence. Late 19 Century. Very good 9 ½ inches curved blade forged from very fine wootz (Damascus) steel in the rare ladder pattern. Dark wood hilt mounted with silver collar, pommel and grip strips. The scabbard is whole silver on wood, rich in filigree decoration of the utmost quality. Total length in scabbard 22 inches. Very good plus condition. A very good example for this type.
