Very Fine Yemenite Thouma Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Handle - 14066
As best as it can get. This very fine Yemenite Jambiya dagger is also known as Thouma and it is carried mostly by high ranking peoples in the Yemenite society. The blade is wide, double edged with a pronounced central rib 9 1/2 inches long and 3 inches wide. The handle is carved from rhino horn with silver nails and old gold coins. The scabbard is wood with large gilded silver filigree chape with niello decoration. This Jambiya comes with its original wide belt adorned with gilded silver accessories. One at least is signed by the maker. Total length of belt 45 inches. Very good plus condition. Rare and authentic Jambiya from the early - mid 20 C.
