Good Yemenite Jambiya Dagger - 11033

This type of Jambiya dagger from Yemen is also known as Joulba and it is probably coming from Taiz. As so much happens with Yemeni daggers, a later blade, and may be handle, and a later belt were fitted to an old very good silver scabbard. Blade 8 inches, very well forged with a pronounced central rib. Horn handle decorated with nails and brass imitation coins. Heavy silver scabbard with very good filigree and granulation work. Total length 13 inches. Silver tip damaged. Blade mid 20 C. Scabbard late 19 or early 20 C.
